Transport”) is seeking a Manager, Inside Sales to join our Chicago,
IL team. This role is responsible for driving profitable new
customer demand through disciplined prospecting, strategic spot bid
execution, and thorough opportunity qualification. The Manager,
Inside Sales owns all non-contractual opportunities and ensures
that new freight is executable, competitively priced, and aligned
with Fuel Transport’s strategic growth objectives. This position
plays a critical role in generating sustainable, profitable demand,
improving spot bid win rates while maintaining margin discipline,
and ensuring all opportunities are properly qualified prior to
handoff to the execution teams. Rise to the challenge. Find your
Fuel. Job Summary: Drive profitable new customer acquisition in
alignment with company margin and growth standards. Own and execute
the spot bid strategy, ensuring competitive pricing while
protecting profitability. Identify spot opportunities that can
transition into long-term, contractual business. Develop and
maintain strong alignment with customer spot strategies, workflows,
and integration methods. Capture and maintain all quotes and
opportunity data in systems of record with high accuracy. Track and
analyze win rates, margin performance, and market trends to
continuously refine sales strategies. Ensure all freight
characteristics, operational requirements, and customer
expectations are properly documented. Partner closely with Pricing,
Operations, and Customer Success teams to validate feasibility
Analyze outcomes of awarded and lost bids to improve future
performance and market positioning. Provide regular performance
reporting and insights to leadership. Participate in monthly
strategic reviews and planning sessions with the Senior Leadership
Team (SLT). Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and
continuous improvement within Inside Sales. Other tasks as required
by the business. Skills & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required
in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics,
Sales, Marketing, or a related field. Ongoing professional
development in sales strategy, logistics, or transportation
management is considered an asset. 5–10 years of experience in
freight brokerage sales, inside sales, or business development.
Demonstrated success in generating new revenue and managing
high-volume spot opportunities. Strong understanding of logistics
operations and pricing feasibility Proficiency with CRM systems and
quoting platforms. Experience working with pricing, operations, and
capacity teams to deliver executable solutions. Pay, benefits,
