*Company Overview*

Powder Finishers was established more than 30 years ago and acquired by Jensen Metal Products in 2018. We service many independent and corporate clients. Our capabilities include pre-finishing, powder-coating, light assembly, and packaging.

*Position Summary*

Reporting to the supervisor the Paint Line Loader/Unloader III, is a multifunctional role that will have a responsibility to prep products before they are loaded onto an overhead conveyor system to be painted. In addition, you will be responsible for the final visual quality check of products and the unloading of the paint line while following all company safety policy and procedures. You will be an expert in the department, responsible for improving efficiencies while working directly with the Paint Quality Lead.

*Duties & Responsibilities*


* Follow work instructions from the supervisor.
* Check shop packet verifying correct color, MIL thickness, quantity and blueprints are accurate.
* Sand or prep parts as needed for paint adhesion.
* Choose the correct hooks for maximum line utilization.
* Plug threaded holes in parts and mask parts as needed.
* Visually check over each part for defects; welders' holes, poor or missing welds, dented or bent parts, missing or mis-hit holes, etc.
* Work with a partner when hanging awkward parts, always making sure the part is securely hanging on the paint hook.
* Train associates on loading procedures, processes, and techniques.
* Improve efficiencies; design racks and make fixtures.
* Work with closely with Paint Quality Lead on process improvements.
* Every employee has the right and obligation to stop any process or job, and immediately notify their supervisor if they deem it does not meet the quality requirements or is unsafe.


* Work with a partner when unloading parts.
* Count the parts as they come off the line, and carefully stack in bundles not to damage the paint.
* Visually inspect painted items for any defects and proper coverage. Immediately report any quality issues to the supervisor.
* Check shop packet verifying correct color, MIL thickness, quantity and blueprints are accurate.
* Document MIL thickness in the logbook.
* Work closely with Quality Lead on improving processes.
* Laborers may have to do light touch painting of parts.
* Work with the shipping & receiving department to ensure appropriate packaging for shipping.
* Organize supplies such as plugs, hooks and shipping supplies.
* Document and maintain paint records.
* Enter jobs into Global Shop ERP system.
* Train associates the unload procedures, processes, and techniques.

*Work Environment*

* Work with exposures to hazards such as chemicals and dust.
* Work near moving machinery and equipment.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

*Physical Demands*

* Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, hands, fingers, legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling of materials, and operating machinery.
* Carrying & lifting 10 - 75 Pounds frequently.
* Ability to endure hours exposed to heat.
* Ability to move and transfer products with an overhead crane.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus.

* Strong attention to detail.
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to read blueprints.
* Demonstrate ability to work independently with or without supervision.
* Work 4-10-hour days, M-Th, 5:30am - 4:00pm; To meet the needs of the customer's occasional overtime may be required. The company will try and give as much notice as possible

*Education and Experience*

* High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
* 3+ years' minimum experience.
* Ability to read and utilize a tape measurer.
* Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
