Job Description:

Job Description SUMMARY: Provide accounting support to the ownership & departmental personnel by ensuring data integrity of financial information, providing timely & accurate reporting to management, safeguarding company assets, and maintaining internal controls. Performs analysis and prepares reporting from accounting records.

Oversee month-end closing process and prepare monthly financial statements with comparison to budget for Bear Homes, Construction Management Associates Inc. and related entities.
Manage staff of Construction Accountants and Accounts Payable associates
Oversee Construction projects, tracking budgets and accumulated costs
Monitor, track and report cash flow requirements and forecasts
Oversee, approve and coordinate Construction related pay application process for accuracy and timely processing.
Work with Project Managers and Construction Accountants to ensure compliance with Housing Authority, Lending and Title Company requirements respective to the approved project specifications.
Reviews and coordinates the submittal of approved construction pay applications, developer costs, and change orders to owners as part of the Draw Process to lenders.
Prepare and file property tax returns and sales tax returns.
Prepare key account reconciliations for assigned companies.
Design and create reporting from the Accounting system for Key Management Reports.
Complete annual entity registration fee processing.
Calculate and prepare cross entity charges and settlements.
Prepares and posts complex and confidential journal entries.
Examine, document and analyze existing policies and procedures for core processes, researching alternative opportunities, developing more effective and efficient processes.
Understand and provide guidance of core accounting principles and business practices.
Effectively manage, mentor and assist in training staff accountants
Continue to design, build and support infrastructure to support continued growth from the Development team
Performs other related special projects and duties as assigned by management.

- Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent
- Five to seven years related experience
- Familiarity with construction standards and terminology
- Familiarity with GAAP and technical accounting standards and terminology
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Proficient on Accounting software
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
