ours.Summary of Position:Perform all necessary duties to setup and
maintain production on Engel plastic injection molding machines.
Clean, change and repair tools as needed. Gather information
necessary to setup and run sample orders. Perform all necessary
maintenance on the machines. Key Tasks
- Plans trials or sequence of trials or equipment changes
- Determines process variables and ranges
- Interfaces with customers and suppliers to resolve quality
issues working with the Quality Department
- Develops processes for new tooling to produce parts at quoted
cost
- Issues process standards to production and ensure that they are
adhered to
- Recommends and justifies budget recommendations for capital
equipment related to the process
- Develop, recommend, and implement corrective action to improve
scrap and efficiencies
- Study and recommend improvements on job setups
- Perform new tool samples and/or attend tool samples performed
at outside sources
- Troubleshoot current process for any potential improvement
- Makes recommendations during new product design to ensure the
most efficiency at production time
- Audits processing paperwork Duties:
- Perform all necessary duties to set up and maintain production
in molding manufacturing cell including and not limited to machine
set-up, troubleshooting, operating, repair and cleaning
- Monitor and perform preventative maintenance in molding
manufacturing cell including clean room
- Recommends and coordinates equipment changes and
improvements
- Participate in cross-functional team, from conceptual stages
through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet customer,
marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives
- Provide direction and training for all permanent and temporary
production workforce additions
- Perform design of experiments to optimize product/process
function
- Prepare procedures and work instructions as needed
- Participate in product design reviews for manufacturing
feasibility
- Assist management and engineering in all phases of process
development
- Analyzes trial and designed experiment results to solve
problems and reduce defects
- Recommends and justifies budget recommendations for capital
equipment related to the process
- Required to maintain a database including historical process
information
- Establish all parameters for processing of all tools and
jobs
- Makes recommendations during new product design to ensure the
most efficiency at production time
- Interfaces with Production, Engineering, Quality, customers and
suppliers in order to achieve the program objectives
- Audits processing paperwork
- Other duties as assignedEducation and Experience:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in plastic injection molding
and operating plastic injection molding equipment or equivalent
combination of advanced education and experience
- Demonstrated creative problem solving around product design,
tooling design/debug, process development and/or machinery design
and development
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Solid communication skills, both written and
verbalPreferred:
- Experience with QAD or other MRP system
- Knowledge and/or experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques or
equivalent and all the tools associated with successful
implementation
- Working knowledge in SolidWorks 3D design and SmarTeam product
data management software
- Experience performing design of experiments
