Description
Johnson Health Tech's manufacturing plant in Sturtevant, WI is looking for a Tool Maker to create custom frames for robotic welding.
The Tool Maker creates new welded components for custom orders of strength equipment, free weight racks, and resistance pieces. They are responsible for producing samples for clients during the New Product Development process. After the sample phase, the Tool Maker also creates new weld fixtures for production and robotic welding. Tooling must be precise and robust to last for thousands of production orders
Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time Tasks:

• Check welding unit is working properly
• Evaluate and select components and parts for new product
• Read work orders, work instructions, formulas, or processing charts
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments
• Weld frame to completionSkills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of mig welding equipment
  • Knowledge of metal cutting saws, drill press, lathe, hand grinders and hand tools a plus
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools such as a tape measure, angle indicator, and micrometer
  • Ability to read basic prints and create a working model or weld fixture from them
  • Basic mathematical skills and knowledge of it's applications

      Requirements
      QualificationsEducation:
      • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
      • Welding technical program graduate or a student in their final year preferredExperience:
        • One to three months welding experience preferred
        • One to three months in a Manufacturing Environment preferredOther Requirements:
          • Ability to work overtime
          • Ability to read a tape measure
