Job DescriptionSUMMARY:Aspire's Data Systems Coordinator will provide strategic support and knowledge through critical data analysis, management of technology systems and communication within Aspire and throughout Carthage College.RESPONSIBILITIES: Data and Analytics

  • Design and implement effective strategies for identifying, collecting, and assessing student/alumni usage and engagement data; determine how to use existing data sources and develop new channels to collect necessary insights.
  • Contribute to an internal team to develop evidence-based strategies for evaluating students' achievement of The Aspire Program's learning goals and developing an online repository for students to manage/track their progress through The Aspire Program.
  • Collect and merge data from multiple technology systems/databases on a regular basis to prepare information for analysis. Use good judgment to validate and clean data for accurate analysis.
  • Design surveys and write questions in tools like Qualtrics to maximize the quality and quantity of responses.
  • Develop models for predictive, causal and other analyses to identify barriers or success factors that may exist for the full student body and segments of the population. Analyze data to identify how effectively Aspire is reaching all students and define demographic profiles of students more/less likely to be moving through the program in expected ways.
  • Query data to gain insights and create data visualizations to support storytelling on data trends and actionable next steps.
  • Manage at-graduation/post-graduate outcomes data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient tracking and maintenance of key longitudinal data.
  • Evaluate existing and emerging software in the context of the Center's strategic goals for target audiences; participate in primary research on implementation and customization strategies for all platforms.Operations & Communication
    • Build real-time and periodic reports/tools to help team members to use quantitative and qualitative data and insights in decision-making, program planning, and promotion of The Aspire Center.
    • Establish policies and procedures for the Aspire staff to support consistent, accurate data collection and analysis in order to evaluate students' completion of learning goals and engagement with the Center.
    • Serve as a system administrator for student data systems, such as Handshake.
    • Act as a main point of contact and collaborate with campus partners for event logistics.
    • Other duties as assigned or as opportunities emerge.QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Bachelor's degree.
      • Must have experience with data collection, basic statistical analysis, and reporting.
      • Ability to use technology required for the role, including Excel, online databases/cloud-based software (SaaS), data analysis/visualization tools, and basic office software products.
