Job Description:

This position provides services to high school youth who are at-risk for truancy, academic failure, delinquency, gang involvement, and alcohol and drug abuse. Responsibilities include: interviewing and evaluating clients; conducting client checks (both at school and within client homes); transporting clients; determining services to help the client as well as formulating, implementing client treatment plans.Hours are typically Monday - Friday during school hours, however, this position is expected to work occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate the needs of the program. Flexible work arrangements are available after six months of employment.Salary: $16.00 an hour plus $1,000 sign on bonusKey Responsibilities:Interview and evaluate clients to complete the intake process.Analyze client situations, capabilities, and problems to determine services required to meet the treatment needs of the client.Formulate, implement, evaluate and review individual client treatment plans.Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.Monitor client behavior and school achievement by conducting in-school checks on a daily basis.Provide assistance to the school personnel and students as determined by school administrators and program supervisors.Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family education/treatment, and/or recreational activities three to four times a week.On a weekly basis, update parents/guardians on client progress and provide problem-solving interactions.Formulate units, monthly reports, and discharge summaries per program standards.Report client behavior and school achievement to Kenosha County Department of Human Services and Kenosha Unified School District, and make appropriate recommendations.Provide supervision and support to youth placed in the Summer Youth Employment Program.Attend court hearings with client and family as needed.Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws. Safely transport clients as needed.Other duties as assigned..

Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance. Education:Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related field.Knowledge, skills and Abilities:Ability to read, speak and write clearly in English.Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in establishing work schedule.Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Department of Human Services and Kenosha Unified School District.Must establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, the school district, and other community agencies.
