Job Description:

The Sr. Manager - Distribution Center holds a key role in order execution, inventory management, and logistics related to Power Equipment, Production Materials, and Part & Accessories. They are responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:

The Day to Day...

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of distribution center associates including determining job assignments, defining expectations, coaching, managing performance, and supporting individual development.

  • Champion workplace safety practices and employee engagement in safety.

  • Determines capacity and workflow within the distribution center assigning the appropriate staffing, equipment, space, and shipment schedules to complete shipments on time, accurate, and free of damage.

  • Establish operational procedures and standard work for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of product, and keeping of warehouse inventory.

  • Ensure the execution of appropriate inventory management practices for safe, damage free, and accurate keeping of AriensCo inventory assets.

  • Set and manages annual expense budget for distribution center operations and facilities.

  • Develop and implements programs to improve the productivity and quality within distribution center operations. Review costs, quality, and inventory management programs to ensure cost effective operations at or below budgeted expense levels.

  • Demonstrate collaborative problem-solving behaviors and lead the resolution of issues and discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Partner with 3rd party logistics and transportation partners on truck schedules, capacity, and equipment needs to achieve daily shipping plans safely and efficiently.

  • Champion the AriensCo Lean culture; encouraging employee engagement in continuous improvement.

  • Direct reclamation of damaged product as well as coordination of re-work of product. Act as a local resource supporting or providing resources for tier 1 quality checks based on visual inspections, verifications, measurements, etc.

  • Assist in the development of long-term plans for the distribution center. This includes such things as expansion, layout, capital improvements, major maintenance expenditures, stocking levels, distribution locations, third party shipping, etc.

The Qualifications...

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent related experience in operations or logistics.

  • Sr. Manager - Distribution Center should possess technical skills in logistics, transportation, distribution, inventory and project management.

  • Additional skills would include:

  • 10+ years' experience within Logistics Operations including managing Third Party Logistics Provider relationships.

  • Experience with system problem solving to ensure the timely and accurate system to system integration. Specifically, with WMS and Transportation systems.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to effectively lead, train, manage and motivate others to successful completion of goals

  • Collaborative work style

  • Drive for results; resourceful

  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility

  • Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work parameters

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently and ethically with both internal and external customers

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and proficiency with other basic software packages (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
