Job Description Job Description Job Title: Senior IT Functional Lead Location: Onsite in Waukegan, IL Period: 03/31/2025 to 03/31/2026 Hours/Week: 40 hours – Hours over 40 will be paid at time and a half Rate: $100 – $110/hour Contract Type: W-2 only, no visa sponsorships or subcontracting Scope of Services: The Sr. IT Functional Lead will work closely with the functional and technical teams across multiple IT initiatives within the Abbott Business Solutions and Services Group, focusing primarily on Archiving and SAP Hardware upgrades. The primary responsibility is to coordinate with ERP application teams (Functional, Basis, and Database), infrastructure teams (OS, Storage, and Networking), and external vendors on the testing efforts. This role ensures that SLC validations are adhered to, while also planning and executing the testing activities according to the approved timelines. The Sr. IT Functional Lead will assess and evaluate risks to the project timelines and communicate effectively, both formally and informally. The position requires leadership and the ability to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders with diverse objectives. Role, Responsibilities, and Deliverables: Lead the coordination of functional and technical teams for IT initiatives, including archiving and SAP hardware upgrades, ensuring adherence to testing timelines and SLC validations. Oversee the testing efforts across multiple teams, including ERP application teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors, ensuring successful project delivery. Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans and schedules based on the project timeline. Conduct risk assessments and work with teams to mitigate risks affecting the project timeline. Maintain effective communication with senior leaders and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and risks. Provide leadership in facilitating collaboration between stakeholders to ensure that project objectives and deliverables are met. Evaluate project risks and provide resolutions for identified issues, ensuring timely problem determination and root cause analysis. Manage the alignment of functional and technical team efforts, ensuring the proper integration of each team’s work into the larger project. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (GxP regulated environments) throughout project execution. Experience & Skills: At least 12 years of experience in testing coordination, project management, and software validation, preferably within a healthcare industry that is GxP regulated. Extensive prior experience managing and leading functional teams, with a strong focus on software validation, problem determination, and problem resolution. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and functional teams and external vendors to ensure the successful completion of projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior leaders in a clear and concise manner. Solid understanding of infrastructure environments, service requirements, and organizational culture. Expertise in process management, with an understanding of process costs and the ability to work with multiple teams to ensure timely project delivery. Ability to accomplish results through others by establishing strong working relationships. Firm but fair approach to ensuring project deliverables are met and deadlines are adhered to. Education & Certifications: Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a complementary business field. Relevant certifications in IT project management, software validation, or other related areas are a plus.
