Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate &
Investment Bank's Futures & Options Trade Processing Team, you are
an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and
deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure,
stable, and scalable way. You will be responsible for developing
critical technology solutions across various business functions to
support the firm's objectives. Our global footprint on
approximately 80 exchanges underscores our market presence, and our
focus on timely, error-free, and efficient client trade processing
is underpinned by resilient, cloud-based technology. Our team is
based mainly in London, with members in Glasgow, Chicago,
Bangalore, and Singapore, fostering extensive collaboration.Job
responsibilities
- Design and build scalable and resilient technical
solutions.
- Lead a team of associate full stack developers, promoting best
practices across the group.
- Drive business value through change programs/projects within
the Futures & Options Trading Technology Group.
- Create automated unit tests using a Test Driven CI/CD
Development approach.
- Develop a strong understanding of clearing, margining, and
settlements within the Futures & Options domain.
- Partner with tech leads to develop realistic project
estimates.
- Analyze and build within areas like Control, Stability,
Resiliency, Capacity, & Performance.
- Plan and manage testing phases: Unit, SIT, & UAT.
- Deliver code into production with zero post-implementation
issues.
- Participate in strategic planning and organizational goal
setting.
- Contribute to quality improvements, code reviews, and
standards.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering; 5+
years of experience in Java.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms like Azure or
Google Cloud.
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication
skills.
- Expertise in core Java (at least 1.8), including collections,
garbage collection, multithreading.
- Experience with Maven, Jenkins, Git/Subversion.
- Knowledge of frameworks like Spring, JMS, JDBC,
Hibernate/JPA.
- Understanding of database concepts, preferably with Oracle,
including performance tuning.
- Ability to handle complex problems and provide end-to-end
solutions.
- Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
- Experience providing Level 2/3 production support.Preferred
qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in Investment Banking, especially in Futures &
Options.
- Understanding of trade lifecycle, back-office functions like
clearing, margining, and settlements.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Knowledge of FIX protocol.
- Experience with heap analysis and profiling.About the
