Job Description:

• Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking an experienced Database Manager to maintain the Access database used by the Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command (SWESC) Great Lakes, IL in support of technical and military training for enlisted personnel of the U.S. and allied navies temporarily assigned for training.Job Description:
  • Maintain the SWESC Access database for all courses in the database, by setting and enforcing standards and controls, preparing for database expansion by reviewing plans and requirements, maintaining and updating the SWESC Student Access database when course changes occur.
  • Accomplish upgrades and improvements as needed; maintain database performance by troubleshooting problems, secure database by developing policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Prepare and provide analysis, statistics related results as needed, and contract personnel requirements list.
  • Provide Technical / application support along with daily / weekly / monthly backups of server data.
  • Provide a report of the technical or security issues with the server daily to the TA and COR by COB.Qualifications:
    • Must have a BS degree in a computer related field.
    • Must have at least 2 years' experience in managing databases, to include; data modeling and database design, backup and recovery, ensuring data integrity, data security, capacity planning and General systems management and networking skills.Desired Qualifications:
      • Previous experience managing learning management systems and similar databases.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
      • Familiar with Navy quota control policies and procedures.
      • Working knowledge of maintaining and protecting CUI, PII and PPI data.Security Requirements:
        • Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.Travel Requirements:
          • Occasional Travel-Less than 10% travel.
          • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.Physical Requirements:
            • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
            • Communicating with others to exchange information.
            • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
