Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Profession: Respiratory Care Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3rd NOC Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in both general and critical care preferred. 2 years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care is preferred. License: Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). BLS, ACLS, NRP. Must-Have: Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program. Description: A Respiratory Care Practitioner performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures. These procedures are in accordance with established policies and procedures. The services include therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing. Tasks performed include the use of medical gases and equipment, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols. Administration of medications to the cardiopulmonary system is included. Ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems, is required. Responsibilities include bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises. Patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation are crucial parts of the role. Maintenance of natural and artificial airways is also essential. These procedures are performed in both critical and non-critical care areas. The practitioner works with patients of all ages. Job duties must align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
