Job Description:
The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) collaborates with the
Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to direct, plan, coordinate, monitor,
and oversee nursing services across all levels of behavioral health
care in the organization. This role ensures adherence to nursing
policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, and high-quality
patient care. The ACNO serves as a liaison between nursing and
other hospital departments, fostering collaboration on clinical and
professional initiatives within the organization and community.
Additionally, the ACNO partners with the CNO to identify, develop,
and implement professional development opportunities that enhance
nursing practice, promote clinical excellence, and support staff
competency growth in alignment with organizational goals. The ACNO
also provides oversight of designated departments and nursing
support functions to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
and institutional objectives and may be required to cover as a
Director of Nursing for specific campuses as needed.Job Duties &
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and oversight of nursing operations across
all levels of behavioral health care, ensuring compliance with
regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Develops, implements, and maintains nursing policies,
procedures, and best practices to support patient safety and
clinical excellence.
- Oversees designated departments and nursing support functions,
ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory
requirements.
- Mentors and develops nursing leaders to enhance professional
growth, engagement, and leadership effectiveness.
- Collaborates with the CNO and Human Resources to develop and
implement strategies for recruitment, retention, and workforce
development.
- Leads quality improvement initiatives, monitoring key
performance metrics and implementing corrective actions as
needed.
- Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for
Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), state, and other relevant
regulatory requirements.
- Participates in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource
allocation to optimize nursing operations and financial
stewardship.
- Serves as a liaison between nursing and other departments,
promoting interdepartmental collaboration and effective
communication.
- Engages in quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Leads and supports safety initiatives within the behavioral
health setting to proactively enhance safety standards and improve
the overall care environment.
- Engages in professional development activities, representing
nursing services in leadership meetings and various
committees.
- Represents the department in professional settings, including
community outreach, seminars, and marketing efforts.
- Fosters a positive and professional work environment,
maintaining open communication and addressing concerns
constructively.
- Upholds and promotes the mission and values of Rogers
Behavioral Health through effective leadership and
collaboration.
- Promotes organizational goals by keeping staff informed of key
initiatives, ensuring alignment with objectives, and fostering
effective communication.

Description:Education/Training Requirements:
- Maintains a current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the
State of Wisconsin and remains in good standing. Candidates who
hold an active RN license in another state must obtain Wisconsin
licensure within 60 days of hire.
- Master's of Science in Nursing required.
- Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in a
supervisory/management role directing nursing services for a site
or health system and leading other leaders. Five (5) years in
behavioral health leadership.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC) or
Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC or NEA-BC) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within thirty (30) days of
date of hire. Re-certification is required.
- Formal training in management of the aggressive patient within
sixty (60) days of date of hire. Annual re-certification is
required.
- Demonstrable understanding of TJC, Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC), and applicable regulatory requirements.
