To continue our growth, we have an excellent opportunity for a Director of Software Sales for Rite-Hite Digital Solutions in our Milwaukee, WI based headquarters. The position will be remote until the end of 2022. A flexible work plan will be provided once we return to the office.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of the short- and long-term sales strategy for Digital Solutions. The incumbent will serve on the Operating Company President's Management team and is responsible for input on all sales aspects for that team. This position is responsible for maximizing product sales and profitability through effective training and support of all of the sales teams. The incumbent is responsible to manage all sales and distribution relationships for all assigned product lines and distribution channels. This position will also be responsible for maintaining existing business and successfully launching sales of new products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and maintain a complete understanding of the Digital Solutions business, including the products, sales strategy, competition, operations, and business philosophy. This information will be included in a sales plan that delivers a consistent approach to customers through existing Distribution salesforce and other specialized salesforce.
  • Develop and execute sales and distribution strategy through all sales channels, which could include direct selling, integrators, and others. Develop relationships with major customers to meet budgeted revenue and profit targets.
  • Identify potential major accounts and major opportunities within those accounts for application of products and services. Effectively coordinate the sales efforts of the available sales team. Help to develop sales and marketing strategies for major accounts.
  • The incumbent will work closely with the management team, to provide input on the development of related marketing and media plans, product positioning and pricing strategies, and participate on new product development projects.
  • Collaborate with the Rite-Hite Distribution Group and other Operating Companies to deliver customer value across the various product lines.
    • Align and apply industry trends and competitive learnings to develop an effective long-term sales strategy and plan.
    • Partner with the Digital Solutions technical team to vet 3rd party software enabled products. Manage the relationships with 3rd party vendors to allow our sales team to sell a portfolio of differentiated software enabled products.
    • This position is responsible for meeting or exceeding the rep net orders budget and orders gross profit as established by the business.
      PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
      • Maximize business sales volume and profitability across all product lines.
      • Maximize the closing ratio of major jobs through effective coordination of sales activities.
      • Participate on product development projects both hardware and software.
        SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

        Directly supervises up to 4 sales employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

        Required Experience:

        This position requires a 4-year degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing or a related field. In addition, this position requires a minimum of five years successful B2B software sales experience including a minimum of two years of IOT / IIOT / Software / Annual Recurring Revenue-Subscription model type of experience including customer success organizations. Preferred experience includes experience building and leading a high-performing software sales team, 2+ years' experience in hardware integrated with software product sales and direct experience selling enterprise software and SaaS solutions to industrial customers. The qualified candidate will have a proven track record of closing deals, consistently exceeding sales targets and consistently achieving sales forecasts and ability to learn new software applications and technology-oriented products quickly. Entrepreneurial mindset is a plus.

        The qualified candidate will possess a thorough understanding of software sales and the ability to motivate a sales force to maximize sales. An equivalent combination of Industry Related Experience may be substituted for the 4-year degree.
