Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Sr. Financial Manager is responsible for the financial
oversight of Cherry Americas. Working as a strategic business
partner to manage costs, maintain regular accounting records,
develop plans related to operating budgets and business expenses,
compile financial reports for sales & cost audit/allocation
purposes with the overall objective of increasing profitability of
the corporate function through cost control.
Position Responsibilities:
- Independent accounting for all business transactions of our US
sales company according to IFRS and US Gaap
- Responsible for all accounting entries with focus on GL,
accounts payables/receivables, and asset accounting
- Leading and processing the monthly, quarterly, and annual
close, and creation of the IFRS reporting package for the Global
Office
- Independent processing of tax issues and reporting (VAT, ZM,
statistics, etc.)
- Preparation of payment runs and cyclical account clearing in
all areas
- Support of the headquarters in the Intercompany reconciliation
process
- Ensuring compliance of reporting with legal and
company-internal requirements
- Reporting of all financial data to local management and to the
International Director of Group Accounting
- Preparation of business development analysis including variance
analysis
- Daily finance work and banking transaction management
- Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and
ensures financial information has been recorded accurately in
preparation for tax filing, planning, and minimizing tax risk
- Prepares reports which summarize and forecast business unit
activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and
earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
- Participate in the preparation of budgets, reviews budget
proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and
justification
- Provide timely status and progress reports of certain elements
of the business unit's overall financial performance
- Control, track, and report capital and asset investment
programs, including overseeing approvals, tracking actual to
budget, meeting program targets, and ensuring appropriate
accounting treatment
- Keep Corporate Controller informed of financial status of
business unit and potential issues
- Resolve financial issues related to AR/AP and payment
procedures
- Ability to communicate with external financial parties
- Coordinate with external auditor for annual financial
audit
- Examine and review cost records and ensures cost data is
allocated correctly
- Work with business unit team to improve inventory accuracy and
accounting methods
- Drive process improvement-Carry out and support new projects or
group policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to build and generate daily sales reports and sell thru
activity and analysis
- Be an active participant in Quarterly Business Reviews with the
Executive Team
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years professional experience within Finance,
Controlling or Accounting
- Bachelor's Degree with major in Finance, Controlling or
Accounting
- Master's degree in Finance & Accounting preferred
- Strong knowledge in accounting according to IFRS and US GAAP
guidelines
- Self-confident, good communication skills, and conscientious
working habits
- Solid experience on costing, budgeting, forecasting, reporting,
and analysis
- Knowledge of laws and regulations, experience in dealing with
both internal and external auditors
- Comprehensive ERP experience (preferably SAP ByD) and
intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Excel
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Ability to work in an intercultural environment with
international colleagues
- Deep knowledge of accounting standards and processes
- Convincing verbal / written communication skills accompanied
with the highest level of confidentiality & integrity
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills & attention to
detail
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Electronics and/or a distribution
environment
- Familiar with Sales & Accounting functions within a Digital
environment (Amazon.com, retail.com)
