Summary The Materials Planning & Inventory Controls Manager is a
critical leadership role responsible for aligning material
availability with production requirements and customer delivery
commitments. This position oversees material planning, demand
forecasting, inventory control, purchasing coordination, supplier
management, and logistics execution, while leveraging ERP systems
to drive operational efficiency. The role requires strong
cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Sales, Engineering,
and Finance to effectively bridge demand and supply. This position
offers a defined growth path into broader operations leadership and
executive roles based on performance and business needs. Key
Responsibilities Materials Planning & Demand Management - Develop
and execute material planning strategies to support production
schedules and customer on-time delivery objectives. - Analyze
customer demand, sales forecasts, and production requirements to
generate accurate material plans. - Continuously improve demand
forecasting accuracy and planning methodologies. ERP & Systems
Management - Act as the subject matter expert for ERP/MRP systems
related to materials planning, inventory, and procurement. - Ensure
accuracy and integrity of item masters, BOMs, lead times, planning
parameters, and inventory transactions. - Drive system
enhancements, reporting improvements, and data-driven
decision-making. Inventory Control & Optimization - Maintain
optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess, obsolete, and
slow-moving materials. - Lead cycle counts, physical inventories,
and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy. -
Establish and enforce inventory control policies and best
practices. Purchasing & Supplier Management - Coordinate
procurement activities in alignment with material plans and
production schedules. - Manage supplier relationships to ensure
reliable supply, competitive pricing, quality standards, and
delivery performance. - Monitor supplier KPIs and lead corrective
actions for performance gaps. Logistics & Supply Chain Execution -
Oversee inbound logistics to ensure timely receipt of materials and
components. - Coordinate with warehouse and logistics partners to
support uninterrupted production flow. - Proactively manage supply
risks and material shortages. Customer & Cross-Functional
Collaboration - Interface with internal teams and customers to
support on-time delivery commitments. - Partner closely with
Finance on inventory valuation, working capital optimization, and
cost controls. - Support continuous improvement initiatives across
supply chain and operations. Performance Monitoring & Leadership -
Define, track, and report key performance indicators including OTD,
inventory turns, forecast accuracy, and supplier performance. -
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement scalable
solutions aligned with business growth. Qualifications & Experience
Education: - Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management,
Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related
field. - Master’s degree or professional certifications
(APICS/CPIM/CSCP) preferred. Experience: - 5–8 years of progressive
experience in materials planning, inventory control, procurement,
or supply chain management. - Prior experience in electronics
manufacturing / ESDM / high-mix, high-reliability environments
strongly preferred. - Proven experience managing ERP/MRP systems in
