Job Description Job Description Prater Industries is seeking a detail?oriented and dependable CNC Operator to join our Operations team. In this hands-on role, you'll produce high?quality machined parts by programming and operating CNC equipment while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. What You'll Do Interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications. Set up and operate Mazak CNC mills and lathes, including installing and adjusting tooling and fixtures. Program CNC machines by entering proper instructions and machining parameters. Monitor machining operations and verify accuracy using measurement tools. Troubleshoot issues, adjust programs, and maintain tooling as needed. Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure safe work practices. Manage and track material inventory. Assist with other duties as assigned. What You Bring Skills & Abilities Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Mechanical and technical aptitude Basic computer and math skills Ability to communicate clearly Understanding of safety policies and OSHA requirements Characteristics Dependability and a positive, team-oriented attitude Education & Experience High school diploma 3 years of CNC operating experience preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Lift up to 50 lbs Work in environments with varying temperatures, surfaces, and noise levels Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed All employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
