Manufacturing Engineer The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible
for developing manufacturing processes for mechanical components,
assemblies, and systems for both new and existing products. This
role focuses on evaluating and troubleshooting process issues to
improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory (SQDCI). The
position leads cost reduction and productivity improvement projects
and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure machining
and assembly processes are safe, efficient, and cost-effective.
Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and validation of
manufacturing and assembly processes using 3D modeling software,
emphasizing safety, ergonomics, and lean principles. Execute the
New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring processes meet
geometrical tolerances, determining manufacturing methods, and
estimating setup/run times. Develop control plans and inspection
methods, defining materials, tooling, fixturing, adhesives, and
manufacturing methods with safety and quality considerations.
Create high-quality standard work to minimize human error and apply
GD&T as required. Collaborate with CNC programmers and machine
operators to optimize processes. Address safety observations,
PFMEA, cost reductions, engineering changes, and part obsolescence.
Continuously improve productivity, efficiency, safety, and
throughput while eliminating waste. Communicate manufacturing
expertise to suppliers, customers, and internal teams. Meet
departmental goals and KPIs; investigate and resolve issues when
targets are not met. Support production in improving existing
processes and recommend changes to enhance quality and
productivity. Update standard work and setup/run times as needed.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with operators. Perform
manufacturing engineering tasks as part of NPI teams. Other duties
as assigned. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical,
Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering. GPA of 3.0 or above from
an accredited engineering program preferred or equivalent
experience. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to complete
projects independently. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks,
ProE, or similar). Strong drafting and GD&T skills; ability to
perform tolerance stack-up analysis desirable. Familiarity with
ERP/MRP systems for BOM creation, job routing, cost estimation, and
related tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of
magnetic materials and applications is a plus. Lean Manufacturing
and Six Sigma training a plus. Job Type & Location This is a
Permanent position based out of Wood Dale, IL. Pay and Benefits The
pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr. Great
