Johnson Controls is seeking a Principal Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the excellence in smart building technologies. This role is pivotal in driving innovative solutions that enhance building efficiency, sustainability, and security globally. The ideal candidate will lead engineering projects from concept through to implementation, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to solve complex problems and deliver superior results. Lead the development and execution of complex engineering projects related to smart building systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, to ensure project alignment with business goals and customer needs. Oversee the design, testing, and validation of new products and systems, ensuring they meet stringent quality and performance standards. Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to share findings and advancements with stakeholders and at industry conferences. Stay abreast of technological advancements in the field, assessing and integrating them into projects where appropriate. Expertise in building systems and technologies, especially HVAC, fire, and security systems. Strong analytical skills to assess complex systems and identify opportunities for improvement. Proficiency with CAD software and simulation tools. Excellent project management skills, capable of leading multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
