Job Description:
MAGNETICS DESIGN ENGINEER
We are currently looking for a customer focused, motivated, and
versatile Magnetics Design Engineer to join our team in Bristol,
WI. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and will
serve as a key member of our Engineering staff with the freedom to
create optimized solutions to meet the needs of our Customers.
This individual will be responsible from the design concept through
production inception and production support. Our Design Engineers
work directly with our Customers and/or our Sales Team to design
products that not only meet their requirements and specification
but also in the most cost-effective manner. In addition to their
inherent technical sales role, our Engineers work closely with
Procurement, Manufacturing and the Quality group to develop
prototypes and models for client approval.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing the concept of the product and the design and
development of its mechanical and electrical components
Technical interface to both the Development Group (Customer) and
the Production Group to provide optimized technical solutions
Design custom magnetics, power supplies and value-add
assemblies
Design with organizational objectives in mind
Generate costing information for design solutions
Transform customer specifications into cost efficient manufacturing
specifications
Communicate and coordinate prototyping with outsourcing vendors
when applicable
Cooperate with internal departments (Sales, Purchasing,
Manufacturing and Quality) to provide optimum solutions
Design to meet Agency requirements and responsibilities of working
with third party testing Agencies to achieve compliance
Conform to Organization's ISO requirements and Company's overall
quality standards and manufacturing policies
Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods;
testing finished
products and system capabilities.
Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing
information and trends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years of related
experience or equivalent.
Ability to produce work reflecting excellence and innovation with a
focus on quality.
Understands and uses statistical methods and tools.
Competent with using Computer aided design and simulation
tools.
Strong analytical work methodology and problem solving skills
Project Management skills
Experience in design for manufacturability desired.
Experience working with National Electrical Code, and Product
Certification Standards preferred.
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple work efforts/projects to
meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
Ability to read and create detailed technical wiring diagrams,
schematics, and bill of materials.
Solid verbal and written communication skills and organizational
skills required.
Proficient in the use of Computer-aided design tools such as
Autodesk Tools, Solidworks and Microsoft Office
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Tools
