you'll be at the heart of a therapeutic, trauma-informed school
environment where students are working hard to overcome challenges
and rewrite their stories. You'll help equip youth not only for
graduation, but for life. From job interviews to budgeting basics,
from college dreams to independent living-you'll be their mentor,
coach, and champion.What You'll Do:
- Design dynamic lessons in career exploration, financial
literacy, independent living, and post-secondary readiness.
- Help students discover their strengths and map out goals for
employment, college, or trade school.
- Teach vital life and job skills-think resume writing,
interviewing, workplace etiquette, and more.
- Foster critical executive functioning abilities like time
management, organization, and decision-making.
- Guide students in building personal portfolios to showcase
their talents and readiness.
- Provide access to real-world experiences (mock interviews, job
shadows, projects) that connect learning to life.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and community partners
to support each student's unique path forward.
- Model resilience, positive communication, and self-advocacy for
students who need it most.
- Flexibly teach other subject areas as needed based on student

We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or
related field (teaching certification preferred).
- Experience working with vulnerable or high-needs youth,
especially in alternative or residential settings.
- Wisconsin licensure in one or more of the following areas is
preferred: Cross-Categorical, Transition Coordinator, EBD, or
SLD.
- Deep understanding of trauma-informed practices and adolescent
development.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A creative, patient, and structured approach to teaching and
mentoring.
- A belief in the power of second chances-and the passion to help
students achieve them.
