Job Description Job Description Description: About the Role Delavan Holdings is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our centralized Shared Services Accounting and Payroll team, serving multiple automotive and RV dealership locations. This role is ideal for an early-career accountant who wants hands-on exposure to payroll accounting, general ledger, month-end close, and dealership financial operations in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. You’ll work closely with Payroll and Accounting to ensure payroll-related entries are accurate, compliant, and timely, while also supporting broader accounting functions across the organization. Key Responsibilities Assist the Payroll Department with payroll processing across multiple auto and RV dealerships Maintain accurate payroll records, deductions, benefits, and compliance documentation Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare payroll journal entries Support month-end and year-end close activities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and profit & loss reports Code invoices, set up new accounts, and close monthly books Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursements, and customer accounts Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Assist with audit preparation and documentation File required federal, state, and local tax forms Ensure compliance with payroll and accounting regulations Coordinate with accounting software vendors and recommend system improvements Support purchasing and invoicing systems Perform other accounting duties as assigned Requirements: Qualifications Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll processes Experience with accounting software and payroll systems High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Collaborative mindset when working with dealership and internal teams Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1–3 years of accounting experience Payroll, dealership, or multi-entity accounting experience preferred Valid, unrestricted driver’s license Why Delavan Holdings Centralized shared services model (broad exposure, real impact) Stable, growing organization with multiple business lines Practical, hands-on accounting experience—not siloed work Opportunity to build deep payroll and dealership accounting expertise Apply today to join a collaborative accounting team supporting a growing portfolio of auto and RV dealerships.
